About Me
The beauty of theatre comes from the personal journey it can take us on and the endless possibilities it provides us with. Over the years, I’ve been fortunate enough to direct, design, manage, and perform in all areas of the craft and, from this experience, I’ve discovered that theatre is limitless by nature. In theatre, you’re not limited by contradictions or competing ideals; your only limit is the one you set upon yourself, the one where you restrict your ability to create. Since first grade, I’d been involved in theatre, and I always viewed it as a fun activity. But, for years, that’s all it was: something fun, nothing more. In sixth grade, though, a category five hurricane hit my hometown, inflicted massive damage on our community, and wiped out all of the arts in our area. Suddenly having all exposure and outlets ripped away from me made me finally realize how important theatre truly is: it prepares you for a full life; it gives you a healthy form of expression, fosters perseverance, teaches commitment, awakens creativity, and builds social skills. Now, I hone the craft, teach the craft, and foster the craft because I understand the significance and power it holds. Theatre is a gift only a select few of us are called to and blessed with. We were given this, so it is our duty to share it. It is our duty to spread its spark through all avenues and in all forms. For this reason, it is my mission, my calling, and my honor to create theatre in any and every environment. Whether I have a pro-grade lighting system or the light of the sun, whether I have a proscenium stage or no stage at all, whether I have every aid or none to speak of, I work to create quality theatre, and I cherish the opportunity. Because, regardless of the circumstances, it’s still an opportunity to spread the blessing that’s made me who I am.
